Campaigns and Partnerships Officer

Tilly joined Generation Rent in 2020 after graduating from an MA course in Journalism. She has had by-lines in various local and national publications, including The Times and the Daily Mirror.

Board member

Vicky is a journalist and author specialising in the housing crisis and social affairs. She is The i Paper's housing correspondent and a writer and editor for Refinery29UK, but her work also appears elsewhere. In 2016, she worked on a campaign called Make Renting Fair, spotlighting the work of groups like Shelter, Citizens Advice and Generation Rent, and succeeded in getting letting fees for tenants in England banned.

Board member

Michael joined the board as Treasurer in July 2021. He is an accountant with twenty-years’ experience in not-for profit organisations, and the private sector.

Acting Director

Dan joined Generation Rent in 2014 after six years working in communications for health and green energy clients. He led the organisation between 2016 and its expansion in 2020. He now leads on communications and research.

Chair of the board

Ian is Executive Director and Chief Economist at Tony Blair Institute for Global Change. He was previously at Oxford Economics, the Social Market Foundation, and HM Treasury. He was a panellist on the 2016 Redfern Review on home ownership.

Board member

Samir Jeraj joined the board in July 2017. He is Policy & Practice Officer at Race Equality Foundation. He is also a freelance journalist and co-authored the 2016 book, The Rent Trap.

Board member

Hannah Williams founded RentalRaters in 2013, which allows tenants to review their previous landlords. She is a freelance communications consultant, with 16 years’ experience in marketing and communications.

Board member

Toby was the Prime Minister’s Special Adviser on housing until July 2019. He was previously at Shelter, Navigant Consulting and the Greater London Authority. In 2017 he co-authored Rethinking the Economics of Land and Housing.
